Trimester three

Comments:

28 weeks and I’ve hit the home stretch – trimester three.

And with the milestone have come a few more changes.

I started wearing my wedding ring on a chain about my neck on the weekend for fear that if I wore it on my finger any longer I’d never get it off.

I’m also in 100 per cent maternity clothes now.

The baggier end of my wardrobe just doesn’t cut it anymore.

I’ve lost 30 per cent of my walking pace and get about the place with the true pregnant woman’s waddle, puffing like I’ve run a marathon at any hint of an incline.

I don’t quite feel justified at wearing my new ugg boots (a mother’s day present from a brow beaten hubby) to work, but I won’t rule it out at this stage.

Everyone is saying how close I am now to the big event, but to be honest, it feels like forever.

It’s all been running pretty well except for one scare last week.

I got no sleep on Thursday night because of nagging twingey pain in my belly.

It calmed down on Friday, but I was still sore.

By the weekend it was gone.

I think I’ve got to that point where my belly won’t go out any further without some serious stretching and that’s what it was doing.

The really scary thing, however, was on Sunday when bubby decided she wanted to sleep in.

She hardly moved all day.

It started to concern me, so I ate three pink fizzers and sat still and waited for her to start acting up.

I got a few little kicks and I was happy.

My mum outright laughed at my strategy.

My husband predicted I would be the sort of mother who would wake up the baby to make sure she was still breathing.

I thought it was a rather good idea personally.
