Good causes for apology

WE’RE into apologies again.

Apologies to the Aboriginal people were warranted, but that hasn’t changed a thing in regards to their living standards.

Now a gay man has come out and wants an apology that won’t change a thing for him.

Granted there are still a small number of small-minded people who still carry on thinking that gay people are the devil’s work.

They are the people who should get the apology... “Sorry you still think that way”.

I have a list of apologies I would like. An apology for hoons wouldn’t go astray; followed closely by Centerlink, then the licensing centre.

I would also like to apologise on behalf of the elderly pensioners who are made to feel like society’s burdens, and any people with mental health issues who need better care from the State Government.

Lastly I’m apologising for being 50. Don’t know why, but I just thought I would add that in.

You are right. Apologies without remedy and conciliation, without actions and justice are actually in some ways salt in the wound. Nurse the wounds and don't continue to leave them to fester.
