AN 18-year-old from Warnbro has been charged after allegedly threatening three people with a replica pistol in the city on Saturday night

Detectives said the man allegedly confronted a 19-year-old man and his two friends on Stirling Street about midnight as they were walking from McIver train station to Perth train station.

Police said the alleged offender challenged the group to a fight, produced the handgun from the front of his trousers and pointed it at the three victims.

The three men fled and shortly later a police patrol arrived at the scene.

The Warnbro teenager was arrested nearby and a search by officers of bushes in the area located a replica 9mm Browning handgun.

He was charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear.
