CAREY Baptist College’s equestrian team blitzed the event section of the interschool equestrian competition in Capel, earning the title of overall champion eventing school for 2009.
Carey Baptist College team manager Karen Wood said last month’s event comprised three disciplines of horse riding – a dressage test, show-jumping and a cross-country course.
More than 60 interschool riders competed from about 17 schools.
“Year 9 student Maddison Brown was the overall winner in her class and was also awarded champion interschool eventing rider for 2009, which is fantastic,” she said.
“Year 11 student Kiara Brown was also placed 6th in her class and with the combined scores, our team was named overall champion.”
