NATUROPATH Janelle Repacholi has created a new website that helps simplify the search for health and well-being services in WA.
The spark for the idea of an online guide came to the former Methodist Ladies College student in April last year.
She was continually tracking down details of nearby services, such as local gyms or physiotherapists, to pass on to her clients.
“I had the idea of ‘Wellness WA’ that kept popping into my head,” she said.
“Then I played around with it, did a lot of research. I realised in January this year that it was a big project, but I’m glad I took the challenge.”
The onestophealth.|com.au website offers listings for everything from doctors and chiropractors to health retreats and farmers markets, as well as informative articles.
Mrs Repacholi’s own experience looking for services for her husband, who died six years ago from melanoma cancer, also prompted her to develop the site.
“When Stuart was unwell, we were constantly being given details of new services and practitioners to visit,” she said.
“When I realised how many good resources were out there, I thought it would be great to have them all together in one place.”
Businesses pay an annual fee of $150 to appear on the website and to help the community, Mrs Repacholi plans to donate $50,000 each year to community projects and health organisations.
Her first funding initiative will help WA primary schools develop sustainable gardens.
