THERE is something for everyone in the new Top Trails WA project launched this month, whether walking, cycling, snorkelling, horse-riding, canoeing, long-distance hiking or driving.

A selection panel of representatives from the tourism and outdoor recreation communities assessed the merits of 165 nominated WA trails before coming up with the final list of 54 trails for promotion under the Top Trails banner.

Launched this month, The Top Trails website provides overviews of each trail and links to relevant sites including local visitor information centres.

The trails are also outlined in a new booklet in the five Tourism WA categories of Experience Perth, Australia’s Coral Coast, Australia’s Golden Outback, Australia’s North West and Australia’s South West.

The trails range from the very long, such as the Bibbulmun and Cape to Cape tracks, to short tours such as Fremantle’s Hotel and Breweries Walk or the Parker Point Marine Snorkel Trail at Rottnest Island.

Well-known attractions like the Kimberley’s Gibb River Road are listed alongside lesser-known gems such as the Kingsford Smith Mail Run that runs from Carnarvon to Meekatharra.

Visit www.toptrails. com.au for inform-ation on the cream of WA trails. Another website www.trail
talk.com.au provides a forum for trail users to share their experiences and draw on the experiences of others, as well as stay in touch with trail-related events.

Hello
I was trying to find some information on organised long distance Horseback trail rides with camping out in WA. Do you know of any web pages or links I might try?
Thank you
Kind regards
Bev Seeney
